Customer had the vehicle diagnosed after the car failed to start. Diagnostics revealed there was no pulse to fuel pump and no spark. Wiring and relays tested okay so the autoelectrician suspected possible ECU fault. The customer sent the ECU in for independent testing + repairs.
We tested the ECU and found immobiliser fault, dry joints and corrupted maps. We removed all solder and re-worked the board with new solder. We then reflashed the ECU with new maps and replaced the immobiliser circuit.
Note: We did offer the customer a “Decode” to remove the immobiliser but the customer opted for us to repair the immobiliser circuit instead.
The ECU passed on the final test and was delivered back to the customer fully functional with a 12 month warranty. This petrol Citroen Saxo 1.4 8V was fitted with a Magneti Marelli 1AP Engine ECU.
